CRITICAL UPDATE: Chiefs urged to attend National Children’s Chiefs Commission Plenary at AFN AGA
(July 15, 2026). National Children’s Chiefs Commission (NCCC) and the long-term reform of First Nations Child and Family Services (FNCFS) Plenary Session will now be held on Wednesday, July 15 at 1pm at the Assembly of First Nations AGA.
The NCCC, with the Caring Society and AFN, will be providing important updates and information about the Loving Justice Plan: First Nations Child and Family Services (Outside Ontario) filed pursuant to 2025 CHRT 80.
Please encourage your Chiefs to attend (hybrid option) or have a proxy registered if they are unable to participate.
Resolutions: The NCCC will be seeking support for the following resolutions related to long-term reform:
- Draft Resolution #11: Minimum Standards for Ending Canada’s Discrimination in First Nations Child and Family Services Outside Ontario
- Draft Resolution #12: Clarity, Accuracy, and Respect for Chiefs-in-Assembly Authority in Communications on Long-Term Reform
