Loving Justice: Restoring Our Laws, Teachings & Way of Life

Loving Justice 2026

Join us for the 3rd Annual Loving Justice Conference: Restoring Our Laws, Teachings and Ways of Life taking place September 13–15, 2026 at the BMO Centre in Calgary, Alberta. Registration opens June 23, 2026.

Hosted in partnership by Piikani Child and Family Services and the Our Children Our Way Society, Loving Justice 2026 will bring together Indigenous leaders, Elders, youth, legal advocates, community practitioners, Nations, and organizations from across the country to advance dialogue, learning, and collective action grounded in Indigenous laws, governance, and systems of care for children and families.

Rooted in the conference theme, Restoring Our Laws, Teachings and Ways of Life, this gathering is more than a conference; it is a living expression of Indigenous laws, relationships, responsibilities, and collective care carried forward through this work.

Together, we gather in a good way, guided by love, justice, and responsibility to children, families, Nations, and future generations.

Through keynote presentations, workshops, storytelling, panels, and cross-Nation dialogue, participants will engage in courageous conversations focused on:

  • Indigenous jurisdiction pathways and governance
  • Upholding and enacting Indigenous laws and legal traditions
  • Advocacy, accountability, and systems transformation
  • Strengthening relationships and shared responsibilities

Loving Justice creates space to:

  • Learn from Nations and communities leading change
  • Share promising practices, challenges, and lessons learned
  • Build relationships, networks, and communities of practice
  • Be guided by the teachings, visions, and wisdom carried by Elders
  • Strengthen collective movement toward Indigenous-led systems of care and justice
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
