(Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw Squamish Nation Territory, Feb 13, 2025). First Nations, Tribal Councils, and communities throughout Canada are leading efforts to develop their own agencies, enhance existing ones, and asserting their inherent rights to care for their children and families. This movement is crucial in preserving cultural integrity and ensuring that services align with the unique needs of each community.
Webinar Overview
In British Columbia, 25 Indigenous Child and Family Service Agencies (ICFSA) play a vital role in delivering well-being, family support, and child safety services. These agencies serve over 120 of the 204 First Nations in the region. Mandated by the leadership of each Nation, Agencies ensure that:
- Children’s rights are upheld.
- Services are culturally rooted and responsive to community needs.
- Programs are tailored to the specific cultural contexts of each region.

Moderated by Cindy Ghostkeeper, Executive Director of Nezul Be Hunuyeh Child & Family Services (Fort St. James & Prince George, BC), this webinar will feature an expert panel sharing valuable knowledge, expertise, and insights. Participants will learn about wise approaches and readiness strategies from the following agencies:

- Denisiqi Services Society (Now delivering child safety and wellbeing services)
