Our Children Our Way Society welcomes 25th Indigenous Child & Family Service Agency in the Province of British Columbia

The Indigenous Child & Family Services Directors Our Children Our Way Society congratulates Island Métis Family & Community Services Society (IMFCSS) on their recent signing of a delegated services agreement with the Provincial Director of Child Welfare and extends its welcome to the Indigenous Child & Family Services Directors Forum as the 25th Indigenous Child & Family Service Agency in the Province of British Columbia.

The mission of IMFCSS is to research, develop, implement and evaluate human service programs for the Métis people of Vancouver Island and to provide integrated and holistic service delivery that culturally and spiritually strengthens Métis children and families. They do this through their vision of seeing Métis people growing within their culture, extended family and community; Island Métis Family and Community Services Society is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Métis people on Vancouver Island.

IMFCSS will provide C4 (Guardianship & Permanency Planning) services to Métis children, youth, young adults and families residing in the ancestral territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən, W̱SÁNEĆ, Sc’ianew, T’Sou-ke, and Quw’utsun peoples.  Alongside their provision of delegated services, IMFCSS also offers a number of additional services to the Métis community, including Family Connections, Family Visitation, Life Skills,  Early Learning and Child Care, Youth Services, and a variety of opportunities which are open to everyone.
