2025 Our Children Our Way: A National Forum for Indigenous Child & Family Well-Being Highlights

The fourth annual Our Children Our Way 2025 gathering took place on the shared territories of the Squamish, Musqueam, and Tsleil-Waututh Peoples. The event saw over 1,400 participants, 63 Indigenous vendors, and more than 200 healing sessions.

Serving as the 2025 Conference MC, Madelaine McCallum guides the audience through a virtual tour.

Featured keynote speakers included Shayla Stonechild (addressing matriarchy, land, and well-being for families) and Dr. Cindy Blackstock.

Denisiqi Family Services (Williams Lake, BC) shared their transformation into a loving, supportive organization, emphasizing resilience and teamwork.

The youth panel was praised for setting a positive tone and showcasing Indigenous strength and culture.Wellness sessions were provided to support participants emotionally, including body work and energy healing by practitioners like Joanne Angel.

Indigenous Marketplace hosted over 60 Indigenous vendors offering traditional foods (salmon jerky, beef jerky), cultural items (Kookum scarves, skirts), accessories, helpful information and more.

The Our Children Our Way National Forum celebrates Indigenous culture, language, and resilience, fostered emotional sharing, wellness, and a sense of belonging.
